Thom Markham

Considered one of the pioneers in project based learning, Thom is an educator by trade, a positive psychologist by training, and a global entrepreneur dedicated to expanding educator mindsets in service to a positive future. His mission is to mobilize youth globally to become design thinkers, insightful citizens, healthy individuals, and empathetic collaborators focused on the common good and sustainable development goals.

Kelly Pfeiffer

A dedicated educator, author, blogger and presenter, Kelly is the point person for PBL Global in Australia and an innovator in distance education PBL. She co-created the widely-adopted Dark Sky PBL unit, which was nominated for the Dark Sky Defender award through the International Dark Sky Association (IDA). In 2019, she was awarded the Australian Association of Distance Education Schools (AADES) for Teaching Excellence and her Dubbo School of Distance Learning Futures Team received the New South Wales Department of Education Technology 4 Learning (T4L) award for Leader in Developing Digital Collaborative Communities.

Peng Hong Ling

Peng Hong ling founded the Project Learning (PBL) Research Institute in Beijing, China, in 2014 and leads the exploration of learning and teaching through project based learning throughout China. The PBL Research Institute offers PBL teacher development in in primary and secondary schools and universities to provide guidance and training services for Chinese teachers in PBL teaching. In cooperation with PBL Global, the Institute also has launched a platform for online and offline public service courses and exchanges between schools and teachers, as well as distributing high-quality PBL books and actively promoting the localization of PBL books and materials for Chinese teachers. As part of the PBL Global team, the Institute regularly schedules PBL workshops throughout China with Thom Markham. 

The Maker Team

The iLEAD Maker Team supports PBL development in nine iLEAD schools with over 1600 students throughout California, Ohio, Colorado, and Hawaii. The team also offers deep expertise to PBL Global in PBL, social emotional learning, play based learning and supports PBL Global workshops globally in English and Spanish.

Loni Bergqvist

Loni Bergqvist is a passionate advocate for project-based learning and supporting schools with making lasting change. After starting her career as a teacher in traditional public schools, Loni discovered High Tech High in San Diego, California, joined the staff, and made it her mission to understand more about PBL, leadership and the elements of school culture that nurture student-driven learning. Imagine If is a Denmark-based consultancy, supporting schools, districts and leaders to re-imagine education for the future.
