Dawn Evenson

Dawn has over 29 years experience in education and has substantial experience and expertise in K-8 curriculum, instruction, assessment, school leadership and governance. She has been a teacher and school administrator in both primary and secondary schools. Dawn has held several positions in the Association of California School Administrators, including serving as the Region XV president. She was awarded the 2006 Middle School Principal of the Year Award by ACSA Region XV.

Peter Hutton

Peter’s strength is in transformational insight and HOW to implement significant pedagogical, organisational and cultural change in schools. Peter’s expertise extends to change management, student entrepreneurship, individualised learning, alternative tertiary pathways and supporting dyslexic students. Peter has extensive leadership experience in both the state and independent school systems where he has led significant successful innovation in both sectors. As a person with dyslexia, Peter sees the world differently, and has spent his life challenging assumptions and conventions.

David Runge

Dave partners with schools to co-design their evolving futures. With extensive knowledge of foresight, culture and innovation Dave generates transformation with schools using progressive insight methods that encourage collaboration and engagement within the school community.Dave’s educational leadership experience provides him with a wealth of contemporary knowledge and unique insight into the possibilities of truly transformational schools. He has implemented change and delivered innovation in diverse educational settings, whilst working alongside global thought leaders. Dave contributes regularly to the educational debate and is a strong advocate for future focussed education.

Yong Zhao

Yong Zhao’s works focus on the implications of globalization and technology on education. He has published over 100 articles and 30 books, including Counting What Counts: Reframing Education Outcomes (2016), Never Send a Human to Do a Machine’s Job: Correcting Top 5 Ed Tech Mistakes (2015),Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Dragon: Why China has the Best (and Worst) Education System in the World (2014), Catching Up or Leading the Way: American Education in the Age of Globalization (2009) and World Class Learners: Educating Creative and Entrepreneurial Students (2012). He is a recipient of the Early Career Award from the American Educational Research Association. He is an elected fellow of the International Academy for Education.

Marc Prensky

Marc is a globally-acclaimed “practical visionary” in Education. He has spoken in over 40 countries, authored 7 books and over 100 articles and essays, and is the coiner of the term “Digital Native.” Marc’s latest books are: The World Needs a New Curriculum (2015) and Education to Better Their World (2016).

Xavi Pascual is a teacher, consultant, entrepreneur and a renowned specialist in Challenge Based Learning. David Ross

Dave is the former CEO of P21, the Partnership for 21st Century Learning. He is a frequent and popular speaker and workshop facilitator at national and international conferences, and has presented more than 40 times on such topics as Project Based Learning, creativity, entrepreneurship, and 21st century teaching and learning. One of his most passionate interests is global education. He has led multi-year partnerships in Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, and South Korea. He has provided teacher workshops and leadership training in more than a dozen countries.

Bob Lenz

Before taking the helm at BIE, Bob was the co-founder of Envision Education and served as its CEO and Chief of Innovation until 2015. Under Bob’s leadership, Envision Education put into practice a highly successful redesign model that has opened a path to college and college retention for underserved urban students at Envision’s three Bay Area arts and technology high schools. He is recognized nationally as a leader in high school redesign, Project Based Learning, 21st century skills education, and performance assessment.
